Christians and culture

How we as Christians interact with our culture is a hot topic in many circles but something that is critical to who we are and how effective we are in our faith. As Christians we should aim to be as holy as God and at the same time as relevant as we can be to our neighbours, friends, and colleagues. However, this is not easy as these two often seem to be in conflict.

I recently read this blog post from Mark Driscoll on the Resurgence blog entitled Why Christians Go Postal Over Facebook, Jay-Z, Yoga, Avatar, and Culture in General. I think he makes good points in this as to how we should interact with our culture with his image of Receive, reject, redeem. The comparison of the number of comments he has received (mentioned in the second paragraph) from two different blog posts is also food for thought.
