A Few Days at the Beach

Every year we go away for a few days with some friends for our yearly holiday. With five children five and under between the two couples we tend to go somewhere close by. This year we headed for a neighboring Island called Samal and stayed by the beach for two nights. It was so beautiful. We were thankful for the chance to get out of the city.

We got to our place after a short drive and ferry ride in time to unpack, get a BBQ going and enjoy the sun setting over the water.

Our rustic grill right by the ocean.

After our yummy dinner, it was time to roast some marshmallows

and enjoy some Smores.

The next morning there was plenty of time to relax in the water,

play in the sand,

watch the fishing boats go by,

and of course burry Ewan.
This tree was the prefect hight for Lydia to climb:-)
And another beautiful sun set, which the children had their backs to because they were watching some scuba divers disappear under the water! But I love this photo, these two really love each other and are such good play mates, and it makes me so thankful.

And what better way to finish the day than bathing IN a bucket:-)

During our stay here, we took the kids on a walk down the dirt road beside where we were staying. We didn’t realise we were going to bump into so much wildlife! More pictures of that to follow in another blog, I’ll just leave you with a few more of my favourites from the two days.

  1. […] We recently went on a two day break to an Island really close to where we live (beach photos are here). One afternoon we took the children on a walk and we really enjoyed exploring. The children loved […]
