St Patricks Day in the tropics

We really enjoy any excuse for a party in this house! Ewan’s second name is Patrick and he is especially found of parties so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have a few of his wee friends around.

Me and two of my friends take it in turns to mark each holiday as it comes around with a little get together for our children. There is normally a story explaining the reason for the holiday, a few activities, a craft and of course some type of yummy snack. So far we have done Autumn, American Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines so of course we had to include St Patricks day!

Here are a few pictures of the kids enjoying the preparations and the “party”

First of all we did it a day late because Mark left for Manilla on Wednesday and we wanted to take him to the airport.

Bye bye Daddy.

Here are my two little helpers making muffins with me – yes I hadn’t gotten around to dressing the children yet – it’s so hot these days! Aprons and chefs hats were all they needed for this job 🙂

Ewan is trying to learn how to wink.
Proud of their yummy creations
It would appear they are very tempting!
Opps, I’ve been caught!

After learning about the story of St Patrick, one of the first missionaries to Ireland, and playing some games, we watched some Irish Dancing on DVD. Ewan’s version of it has to be seen to be believed!
The muffin and Happy St Patrick day badge was enough to keep Lydia happy.
Well most of the time! What a cross face! I think she was saying “enough photos now mum”!
There was enough time to squeeze in a little craft
All the cutting and sticking was hard work, but we all got there in the end.
Happy belated St Patricks day everyone!
