Calling all men in Northern Ireland

The ability to preach is a gift from God. However, not all that have been given that gift have been given it in the same style or the same measure. There have been men throughout history who have been great speakers and now years after their death they are quoted and their sermons referenced by many. There are currently some great speakers in the world being steadfast for God and proclaiming his truth. Among these I rank John Piper and Mark Driscoll among the best.

A while back when we were in Northern Ireland I had the wonderful privilege of hearing John Piper preach two great sermons in Portstewart were several thousand people sat in silence (and some stood outside) to hear some sound biblical teaching on the subject of suffering. On the second night the first sermon got the accolade from RT Kendal of the best sermon he had ever heard. Unfortunately New Horizons have not yet made these sermons available online or I would have linked to them here.

Well Northern Ireland you are in for another huge treat. If you like preachers who are not scared to say it the way it is. Who are not scared of calling a spade a spade. Who do not miss and hit the wall. Then you will love to hear that one Mark Driscoll is coming to Belfast.

If you have never been to the Mandate before maybe this year could be the year. Check it out here. This year Mark will be speaking on the theme of “True Greatness – living life from God’s perspective”. Can I encourage you strongly to get along to this meeting. Let your friends know. Bring those that are not Christian and have them blessed to – Mark has the distinction of working in one of the most unchurched cities of the USA and often has something great for non-Christians to hear.

Go and be blessed. Go and be changed.
